Prologue

In the peaceful town of Veilstone in the region of Sinnoh…

I (An Umbreon) was running for my life from an Espeon I used to know, named Yugi. In an attempt to stop her, I used Psychic. However, someone captured me in a net. The Espeon walked up to me, claws out. "Do it. Kill him." the grunt said. Yugi's claws were descending upon me rapidly. Then, it all vanished. I woke up. It was just a nightmare. I decided I would keep it secret. Because often, I saw nightmares that came true the same day, and this one involved the Espeon right next to me… And Evan, our trainer.

"Good morning Yugi." I said.

"I haven't seen a sunrise like this in forever…" said the Espeon.

"Then you have to start waking up earlier. I saw one almost exactly like this yesterday."

"Well, I'm off to find us some breakfast." said Yugi.

I expected it to take about 10-20 minutes. I waited 2 hours before going off to find her. "Kudon, I'm going to go find her. It's never taken her this long."

"And, let me guess, you want me to watch our sister Christine while you're gone, don't you?" The Glaceon sighed. "This is becoming a pattern, Yusei. You expect to be gone for about two hours, and you end up being gone a couple months on an adventure. Well not this time.

"Ever since our parents died, you've been training us. And sometimes, when you had goals for us, you wouldn't let us stop until we reached them. I know I've done more than my share of complaining about that, but now I realize why you did.

"You couldn't protect our parents, so you doubted you could protect yourself and us. That's why you were training us so hard. So we could protect ourselves. You were training right alongside us. I have seen you pull yourself through many a grand victory. I'm proud of you, bro.

"You're more than ready for this. And I want to be there every step of the way, to remind you. To support you. And to pick you up when you're down. That's why you can't make us stay here alone any longer, Yusei."

"Fine, you can come. Get Christine, we're doing some field training. And this time…

"We'll find our family."
